Advertising & Sponsored Content Policy
The Study Abroad Monitor supports independent reporting through clearly identified commercial activity. Readers must be able to tell reporting from advertising.
Clear labelling
Paid articles, brand collaborations, sponsored research and promotional video content will use a prominent label such as Sponsored, Advertisement or Paid Partnership before the content. A sponsor’s identity will be disclosed.
Editorial control
Payment does not guarantee positive news coverage, editorial endorsement, favorable rankings or the removal of verified reporting. The editor responsible for independent coverage retains editorial judgment.
Claims and disclosures
- Commercial claims about admissions, scholarships, visas, jobs, fees or rankings require evidence and appropriate qualifications.
- Advertising must not falsely guarantee admissions, scholarships or immigration outcomes.
- Affiliate links, if used, should be clearly disclosed.
- University, agency and event relationships that create material conflicts are disclosed when relevant.
Institutional relationships
The publication may use external production services or work with organisations active in international education. When a business or production relationship is material to a story, the parties and nature of that relationship must be disclosed to readers. Such relationships must not determine editorial judgments.
Transparency commitment
Readers should not have to guess whether material has been paid for. We use clear labels on sponsored material and keep editorial judgments separate from commercial relationships.
